MECHANIC
Harbor Transit is seeking a full-time Mechanic. Under general supervision of the Motor Pool Crew Leader and in conjunction with the fulltime Harbor Transit Mechanic, this individual performs a variety of automotive and equipment repairs and preventive maintenance tasks. Primary responsibility will be working with the bus and trolley fleet of Harbor Transit.
A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required for this position. In addition, technical training in general shop and auto repair work is necessary. Three or more years of responsible experience in repairing and overhauling a variety of heavy or other automotive and power-driven equipment is preferred. A State Mechanics Certificate in automotive brakes, electric and suspension systems is preferred.
This position has a starting salary of $20.72 per hour. This position is available as a result of the increased size and complexity of the Harbor Transit bus and trolley system.
